This weeks Weekly Budget Recipe was given to us by Belinda. Pork & Noodle Stir Fry ——————————— 1 Pork Fillet (approx 600g) – diced into small pieces 1 pkt Hokien or singapore Noodles ¼ Cabbage White – finely sliced 1 small head of Broccoli – sectioned into bite size pieces 1 bag Fresh Bean Shoots 2 Carrots thinly sliced 1 Bag fresh spinach 1 onion – sliced 1 bottle of Masterfoods soy, honey & garlic sauce 3-4 Tbsp Good Soy sauce ½ tsp Minced or fresh garlic Salt & Pepper Prepare all ingredients first soak the cabbage, broccoli, onion and carrots in a bowl filled with boiling water let soak til needed In another Bowl soak the noodles and bean shoots ( they don’t need to soak for more than 5 mins or so) Brown the diced pork in a wok or electric frypan cook meat til cooked through adding salt and pepper with the garlic to the pan whilst cooking, once the meat is cooked, drain the cabbage, broccoli and carrots and add to the pan, stirring frequently cook for several minutes then drain the noodles and bean shoots and add to the pan adding the masterfood sauce (add a little water to the bottle add the lid and shake to get the last of the sauce add to the pan) and mixing to combine add the spinach and toss thouroughly, adding the soy sauce as needed to taste veggies will be cooked through Serve in Bowls and enjoy – containers of leftover great to reheat for lunches Serves 4-8 They more people the more veggies and the bigger the pork fillet ** Any vegetables can be used the harder veggies – cauliflower,corn, ect soak with the cabbage, the softer veggies like snap peas bamboo shoots ect soak with the noodles , soaking the videos in boiling water help cook them so no crunchy veggies in the stirfry INGREDIENT COSTS 1 Pork Fillet (approx 600g) – diced into small pieces $6-8fillet 1 pkt Hokien/singapore Noodles $1.89 Aldi ¼ Cabbage finely sliced $2 1 small head of Broccoli – sectioned into bite size pieces $2 1 bag Fresh Bean Shoots $2.20 Aldi Bag fresh Spinach $2.20 1 Onion $.0.60 2 Carrots thinly sliced $1.10 1 bottle of Masterfoods soy, honey & garlic sauce $2.50 Coles 3-4 Tbsp Good Soy sauce (fountain) $2.20 ½ tsp Minced or fresh garlic $1.20/jar Salt & Pepper ———– $25.8
